Black Widow Strain Review

The Black Widow strain that comes from Mr. Nice Seeds is a chameleon.

It has the same parent strains as the famous White Widow.

Originating from Greenhouse seeds under the breeder know as Shantibaba

As noted on the Mr. Nice Seed bank page when describing the lineage:

It is the original parents of White Widow changing its colors like its company.”

The controversy surrounding both the Black and White Widow strains remain to this day.

This strain is under two different names from two different seed houses.

Both claim the original.

I will not get into the in-depth history of the “white widow” . This is a Black Widow strain review on the plant from the breeder known as Shantibaba.

Please see the post for more information on White Widow.

So the story went when Shantibaba was traveling in India was approached by a farmer in the southern area of India known as the Kerala region.

After sharing a joint with the farmer went back to his land where he showed Shantibaba the Indica plant that impressed him so much.

Shantibaba then returned to the Netherlands with some new seeds provided by the farmer.

The seeds would later be part of the strain that was bred with a Brazilian Manga Rosa And introduced as the White Widow.

It was at the same time he co-owned Greenhouse Seeds with Arjan. The White Widow strain then went on to win the High Times cannabis cup in 1995.

In 1998, Shantibaba then sold his part of Greenhouse seeds to Arjan.

Then went on to established Mr.Nice Seeds Bank with the late Howard Marks and Neville Schoenmaker.

And added the Black Widow as a top strain at the seed house.

It would be interesting to get both the White Widow and Black Widow marijuana strain and grow side by side.

To see the different qualities each possesses or how similar they are.
